What We Do

Skimming is the process used for smoothing over a rough looking wall or ceiling to make ready for decorating.

Preparing walls and ceilings prior to plastering is extremely important as all the wallpaper and flaking paint must be removed. Damaged hole areas should be fixed (see Lath & Plaster / Plasterboard Patch & Repair) and once this is done, preparation is completed by applying two coats of strong PVA glue which acts as a bond to ensure the plaster stays on the wall.

Multi Finish is probably the most popular choice as a finishing plaster and is applied in two separate coats to a thickness of approximately 2mm – 3mm and then polished smooth by troweling to complete.
